November Updates

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 9, 2014, 3:37 PM
Hello ! I haven't been very active, lately, as I've been applying to art schools and trying to get through my senior year of high school. Some of my student work and portfolio work for college applications will be posted here, on my DeviantArt, but personal work will likely wait until after the month of April. I have lots to do in the coming months, but I will probably post more of my work concerning my project, Reeve's Island — which now has a production blog underway — after January, when the second semester of my school year has started. Right now, I am trying to raise money for a class trip to Washington, D.C. I have a Storenvy shop open, selling vintage clothing (mostly plus-sized) and trinkets — and everything is $25.00 or less (USD). Commissions are also open, for as little as $10.00 for a traditional marker and pen drawing. Please check out my GoFundMe for the fundraiser and my commission page  for this specific fundraiser (on Tumblr). Anyone's contributions to helping me get to Washington is much, much appreciated. My goal is $2,000.00 to cover all of the events, meals, and lodging I'll be needing to compensate for, but I am content with raising $850.00 to $1,000.00, as that would be my 'halfway point'. I am searching out financial aid for the trip from sponsors who could benefit from my advertising their business in D.C., but, just to be safe, I am still trying to pay for the trip myself. Just a note, though, I do need to make a $400.00 down payment by the end of December. The D.C. trip is something that came as a surprise from the trip organizer and adviser, my American government, but it is hosted by Close Up and the trip will consist of several American history and government workshops, trips, and mostly educational activities (like a mock trial and session of congress). Again, any contribution would be much appreciated and commissions are open; just contact me at for more information.

In April, I will receive notice of whether or not I've been accepted to The Kansas City Art Institute. I graduate in May (of 2015) and I have art shows hosted by WaMaC and Mount Mercy University coming up between March and May of 2015, where I could potentially win more awards and / or scholarships than I did last school year with my advanced art class. Between February and May, I'll be busy with arrangements for my graduation and (graduation party). However, after May, I will be preparing for Anime Iowa 2015, where I'll be hosting a booth selling prints and other merchandise, and moving into college dorms . . . that is, if I get accepted. The way it was implied by my KCAI regional advisor, it looks like I have a very good chance of getting into KCAI in the fall o 2015, so I'm not totally focused on worrying over getting handed an acceptance letter right now. In any case, this is a really busy school year for me.

Below, I've listed all of my social networks; where you can find me and ask me whatever you want about my art-making process and other things. I've recently switched to a new, so the link is entirely different from my last few journals. My personal blog and are the best ways to reach me outside DeviantArt . . . which I rarely check, anymore. Please defer any art-related questions to my or art blog, however, I'd like to keep my personal issues and answers away from my art portals. Thank you for reading this month, folks !
